Glycerin

Glycerol (also called glycerin or glycerin is a simple Polyol (sugar alcohol) compound. Glycerol has three hydroxyl groups that are responsible for its solubility in water and its hygroscopic nature. The glycerol backbone is central to all lipids known as triglycerides. Glycerol is sweet-tasting and is non-toxic.

  • Botanical extracts, Electronic cigarette liquid, Antifreeze, Internal Combustion Fuel, Chemical intermediate, Hydrogen gas production unit, Glycerine acetate (as a potential fuel additive).
  • Conversion to propylene glycol, acrolein, ethanol, epichlorohydrin, a raw material for epoxy resins.
